YomaBarr I, too, saw them opening for Archgoat and it should have been definitely the other way around. And I should have gotten this long time ago: Norwegian hate sprinkled with Finnish-like saudade.
Perfect band live too. I had seen them with Nid, I saw them with this, both to remember. Favorite track: Einride.

H.L. #1 2022: First heavy rotation album in 2022! Quite unbelievable that I missed this elite band until now. The incredibly dense and gloomy atmosphere of "Winds of Wrath" immediately captured me as it reminds me a lot of the unique 90s classics "Through Times of War" and "Agnen" from Keep of Kalessin. The darkness is omnipresent but not tangible. The vocals are raw, the guitars play icy and unearthly and the drums drive the songs relentlessly. What a demonic masterpiece! Favorite track: A Thousand Graves Endured.

Miguel An album that takes you through the depths of hell and back. Einride adds that perfect touch of haunting melancholy. Incredible. Favorite track: Einride.

The third album by Norways finest, WHOREDOM RIFE, is upon us!
Six new hymns of traditional Norwegian Black Metal, heavily rooted in the 90ies glory days, or as V.Einride says; "we're not retro, we're just late".
Both K.R and V. Einride having more than 30 years longevity in the Norwegian Black Metal scene, the band is not exactly new to this.

Epic and grandiose, melancholic and utterly aggressive; Winds of Wrath is truly a tumultous ride to Hell and back.
The album was written, recorded and performed by V.Einride, as always aided by vocalist K.R, whose vocal performance on this album is downright frightening. Rarely do one hear a vocalist spew forth hatred in such a convincing manner.
Winds of Wrath is perhaps their most complete album to date in all regards, and features stunning performances by both members, as the band still to this day remains a two piece act.

Mixing and mastering was done by Rune Stavnesli/Stavmix Studios like all relases before, and is also worth a mention as the production is simply brilliant. Clear and loud, yet raw and powerful!
Cover art has once again been handled by José Alegria Sabogal with layout handled by Kontamination Design, and they have yet again outdone themselves.

The perfect visuals to the audial terror Winds of Wrath presents; a perfect coalition of music and art, something the band has been known for throughout their relatively short existance.

Mikolaj is a real multi-talent in bass as well as guitar as well as vocals and "Darkside" Maciej's drumming is a well-calibrated 100th-of-seconds-clockwork. Not for nothing is Mgla considered as a standard for a lot of other blacker-than-black metal bands. I hope to see this band live once..... grote_smurf

Late 90's BM worship, but it's also a lil more than that. This album takes the best elements from the scene it's inspired by and mostly avoids the worst of it; the song-writing is well-written, it's performed with passion and fun, and the production is raw but isn't lo-fi. (i.e. it doesn't obfuscate and/or suckass). Tl;dr It's safe but high quality BM. Recommended. Rabbit
